Partnering With Kentucky Schools
KSS makes it simple to bring board-certified vision, hearing, and dental screenings directly to your students — at no cost to your school or families.
Who We Serve
KSS works with public K–12 schools, Early Childhood Centers, and district health programs across Kentucky. Any school with a school nurse, Family Resource Coordinator, or health-focused administrator can request services. There are no minimum enrollment requirements — we serve small rural schools and large urban districts alike.
How the Partnership Works
From first contact to screening day, we handle the logistics so you can focus on your students.
Submit an Inquiry
Complete our online request form or call us directly. Tell us your school name, county, approximate enrollment, and which screenings interest you. We'll follow up within 1–2 business days.
Schedule Your Visit
We work around your school calendar. Our team coordinates directly with your nurse or FRC to pick a date that minimizes classroom disruption. We typically need a half-day to a full day depending on enrollment.
We Arrive Ready
Our board-certified specialists bring all equipment on-site — no gym setup required. We need only a quiet room or hallway space. Students are seen efficiently, typically 5–10 minutes per child.
Results Go Home
Families receive results the same day or within 24 hours. For dental screenings, we complete the Kentucky DOE dental form on-site. Cases needing immediate attention are flagged directly to your school nurse.
What to Expect on Screening Day
No Cost to School or Families
All screenings are provided at no charge. Families are never billed, and schools are not invoiced. For vision, eyewear prescriptions are available at no charge when needed.
All Equipment On-Site
We bring everything — Retinomax auto refractors, EarScan audiometers, AuDx OAE devices, dental instruments, and more. You don't need to arrange any equipment.
Minimal Classroom Disruption
Students are pulled in small groups. Most screenings take 5–10 minutes per child. We work with your schedule to avoid testing days, lunch, or other critical blocks.
Results Shared With Families
Every family receives a written summary of their child's results. Referrals for follow-up care are clearly noted. School nurses receive a full roster summary.
